Procedures Depicted: Breast Reconstruction
This patient underwent bilateral breast reconstruction in 2018 with silicone implants at another practice. When she came to our practice, she felt that her implants had shifted and looked droopy. In the flexed position, her upper chest appeared concave and had severe deformity. In addition, she got intermittent shooting pain on her right side. The patient desired larger implants.Dr. Janssen felt that the patient would look and feel better by exchanging her implants, converting from sub-pectoral to pre-pectoral placement of her implants, and by transferring abdominal fat to the upper poles of both breasts. During surgery, it was discovered that the right implant was ruptured, while the left implant was intact. Dr. Janssen removed the 500 cc implants and replaced them with 685 cc smooth moderate plus profile XTRA implants. He also injected 160 cc of fat into the upper right breast and 80 cc to the upper left breast. The patient was very satisfied with the results post 6 weeks, and no longer has pain.Photos are post 6 weeks.
