2005 Year in Review for Fox Valley Plastic Surgery & Medical Day Spa
Fox Valley Plastic Surgery celebrated its 12th year helping patients "perfect their personal renaissance". The practice continues to be successful in fulfilling cosmetic surgery, skin care and laser service needs of patients throughout the Fox Valley region.
The surgeons are focused on surgical excellence and precision artistry. Drs. David Janssen, founder, and William Doubek, who joined the practice in 1998, are Board Certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Dr. Janssen obtained membership in the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) in 2000. Dr. Doubek will be eligible for membership by 2007. Twenty-five percent of cosmetic surgeons have membership in this prestigious society.
Kristin Shefchik, BSN, RN, CPSN, has training that positions the practice as experts in cosmetic surgery. She obtained her Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN) designation in 2005, which requires a minimum of two years plastic surgical nursing experience with 50% of practice hours spent in plastic surgery.
Patient centered service continues to differentiate the practice. With a combined 98 years of expertise in health care, the surgeons and staff of Fox Valley Plastic Surgery provide a welcoming environment and a professional approach that respects and cares for the emotional and physical needs of each patient.
Cosmetic and Medical Day Spa Continue to Grow
The practice experienced growth in cosmetic procedures, with breast augmentation, liposuction and tummy tucks as the leading surgeries. Laser services, including the treatment of wrinkles, scars, acne and the removal of tattoos, achieved 49 percent growth from 2004. The Medical Day Spa completed its third successful year of providing skin care and wrinkle reducing treatments in a luxurious setting. Medical Day Spa sales increased 73 percent in 2005 as a result of strong referrals, repeat patients and skin care product purchases.
Fox Valley Plastic Surgery also completed its third year utilizing the Stryker® PainPump to increase comfort for a patient after a cosmetic procedure. Patients have the opportunity to utilize the device to deliver a controlled amount medication for pain management. The feedback from patients on the effectiveness of the PainPump continues to be positive.
The Medical Day Spa utilized the Visia complexion analysis for skin care patients in 2005. Using ultraviolet photography, skin damage is measured in five categories: age spots, porosity, wrinkles, UV damage and evenness of tone. It allows Fox Valley Plastic Surgery to design anti-aging therapies based on skin feature analysis and track rejuvenation and resurfacing results. A complexion analysis report is provided complementary during a patient's first consultation.
The success of the Medical Day Spa allowed the practice to add to its staff. Nicole Blair joined the practice as the Medical Day Spa Coordinator, responsible for skin care evaluations and recommendations utilizing the SkinCeuticals® product line for maximum improvement to skin health. SkinCeuticals® is the provider of C.E. Ferulic, an antioxidant that delivers 8 times the skin's natural protection against photo aging. More protection means more youthful looking skin and defense against environmental aging.
Exciting news on the horizon are the plans for new offices, medical day spa and surgical center, to open in Oshkosh in spring, 2007.
