Visia Imaging Technology Reveals Damage to Skin
Oshkosh, Wis. - October 12, 2004 - There could be more to your skin than meets the eye. Sun damage is revealed for patients using Fox Valley Plastic Surgery's new complexion analysis system, Visia, from Canfield Imaging Systems. The Visia system uses ultraviolet photography to quantify skin condition by measuring damage in five categories: age spots, porosity, wrinkles, UV damage and evenness of tone. It allows Fox Valley Plastic Surgery to design anti-aging therapies based on skin feature analysis and track rejuvenation and resurfacing outcomes.
The Visia complexion analysis report compares the grading of skin relative to the candidate's peer group (same sex, age and skin type). The PDF provided with the release shows the results of a 32 year old Caucasian female with fair skin. The bottom right photo reveals UV damage to the skin. The area around the eye is not damaged, providing insight that the candidate wears sunglasses often. The candidate scored in the 99th percentile for wrinkle damage compared to her peer group, but ranks in the 12th percentile for spots caused by sun exposure. Fox Valley Plastic Surgery offers the Visia complexion analysis report free of charge to candidates considering skin treatments.
